Hair : #TeamNoFrizz

Disclaimer: In Photo D I added 2 wefts of 18 inch extensions in the middle section for more body.
A - Most of the frizz is reduced! |  B - Smooth, looser waves: top of head | C - looser waves | D - still textured & curls still in tact.
Firstly, please excuse photo A ! I went to bed around 4 AM & woke up around 8 that morning! I had just co-washed my hair for the first time after my trim and I usually wash my hair in the mornings so that I can have enough time to air dry & style it for the daytime. (I do not blow dry or diffuse my hair anymore), hence the only time to take photo A was at a time I looked a morning mess! - I did however put on lip gloss for good measure!. This post is dedicated to the results & after effects of my keratin treatment, also my experience regarding it's maintenance.
(If anyone would want to read about the experience during the treatment comment below and I would be happy to detail it for you!)
The only products I used in my hair were my deep conditioner that I washed out! I sectioned into quadrants and applied Moroccan Argan Oil & Curls creme brule! 3 Holy Grail products that I will be reviewing shortly!
I used 3 products to achieve these results, where as before my treatment I would have to use 6 to be content.

I have to admit, I love my hair, but as an obsessive woman I find faults with it! Some days I wish it was kinkier so I can literally have an afro (fun!)!  Some days I wish it was pin straight, curlier, wavier, shorter, longer, darker, red, green, blonder.. shall I continue? However, for the most part I have a good relationship with it!  Regardless of the temporary cravings for change I just listed, the main thing I would permanently change is frizz - now, I've come to terms with the amount of it but if the opportunity presented itself, I would smooth it out in a heartbeat - which is exactly what I did!
Firstly, this treatment is expensive! I state this first because you have to determine whether or not you're willing to spend a few hundred dollars on your hair! Is changing the state of it that important to you!?
Secondly, are you willing to devote the time to keep your hair healthy! This is a chemical process, which means- just like a bleach, color, or if you relax or perm your hair - it calls for extra TLC! Are you willing to take the time out to deep condition, trim, and reduce  heat styling more often than you may already do?

If you believe you are, then you have to ask yourself if you are willing to risk disappointment! Every professional who is certified to perform this treatment may not always be a professional with your hair type! If you are a curly girl, try to find yourself a salon that is technically trained to style your hair type, etc... that goes for straight, kinky, or any other texture in between as well!
Once you find a salon, I would highly suggest writing out questions you may have, and take photos of what you expect, and what you want! I did not want straight hair nor did I want to loose my curls, I stated this quite loudly and quite often to my stylist! She assured me that my curls would loosen and my frizz would be reduced! JACKPOT!
Since the treatment, I use mostly organic products in my hair! I do not use a sulfate shampoo, and I try to not use (or limit my use) of silicones! The system I use when styling my hair is pretty simple! I always use a leave in conditioner, an oil that will penetrate, & a styling product! 3 simple rules to live by - COS [Condition - Oil - Style]  I promise you great results! You will notice your hair frizzing less because it will always be moisturized, and will be more healthy and grow longer because you will experience less breakage!
A lot of people asked my how my hair grew so long, and I do have a story, but to cut it short I implemented the COS system into my hair diet, and i noticed optimum surges of growth!

This treatment is a temporary alteration, and your hair will revert back to its natural texture after 12-14 weeks, some people say that once their hair begins to revert they notice that even their natural hair is smoother, some people say that it their hair becomes more brittle - I can't say exactly how my hair will turn out because it has not reverted back yet, but I will update this post once I witness the change! I have no qualms with my natural curls, the reason for me doing this was the benefit of frizz reduction! I have to say I'm happy with my results, my hair is softer, my curls are wavier which gives me the illusion of much longer hair, than Im used to! drum roll please.....frizz, pssh - what frizz!?

I'm on the journey to waist length curls (26 inches), lets see how far I get before I crave a chin length bob!
I do have pictures of it straight & I love it! My drying and straightening time was cut down from 3 hours to 1.5! I have only straightened it once since the treatment to see how it looked, like I said - I'm on a hair journey and will probably be #TeamNoHeat for a very long time!

  1. Amazing results, I tried 'Liquid Keratin' about a year and a half ago and loved it. I still notice that my hair feels softer and easier to manage. Lately, when I decide to wear my hair straight I co wash with a Keratin Deep Conditioner called 'Silk Elements Kera Minerals Smoothing Deep Conditoner' and my hair loves it. My hair seems just as silky as it did when I did the Liquid Keratin treatment. It was on sale at Sally's for 4.99, now it's back to it's regular price $6.49 - I can live with that :)
