Summer OOTD | Pineapple Palm

Today was beautifully sweltering outside, and I couldn't let the weather pass without [FINALLY] shooting my first fashion post for BL.COM. I've been trying to post this for weeks but there were just so many variables (and pounds) that have been tampering with my determination to get this post done! Nevertheless, it's finally a wrap! I dressed myself with my love affair with summer in mind! Bright colors and this gorgeous Caribbean inspired print short made me feel like I was on vacation. I added some sass with my favorite new teal shoes (Haul video will be on my youtube channel in a few days) and Neon nectarine clutch! There is something about the sun and itsy bitsy teenie weenie shorts that can make even a great day that much better. Read more of this post to check out the rest of the photos from this shoot and to find out where you can shop this look!

Tiffany & Co Inspired Nails

Two nail blogs back - to - back! Wa-What! I'm on a roll! Today I decided to recreate the sought after Tiffany & Co box! If you're looking for something easy yet still interesting to switch up your basic monotone manicure, I promise you that this look is the most simple tutorial you will come across!

My favorite nail polish in the entire world is China Glaze-For Audrey (Audrey Hepburn 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'  if you missed that)! Not only is this manicure pretty, it was actually a fun 15 minutes as well! For Audrey is such a beautiful breezy blue, it will quickly become one of your favorites too, especially this spring!

To create this design I only used 3 colors, a basecoat & a top coat! It's so simple & with minimal dexterity (while you blast Pink's song Try in the background ...on repeat ...annoying your neighbors) you can have Tiffany nails too! Read More of this post to learn how to recreate this look in 5 easy steps!

DIY French Manicure

Saving for a summer vacation & your nail budget was one of the first expenses cut? Don't have a French Manicure kit or time to sit at a salon? It annoys me beyond understanding why French Mani's are so expensive - not because I don't think they're worth the money but because it's my favorite costly fetish!  A french can cost between $30- $70 dollars depending on where you go & if you get it done on your natural nails or not. I don't know about you my darlings but I got tired of spending shoe money on nails that ended up chipping in two weeks!

Heels don't chip or need to be refilled!

So I sat my shoe obsessed self down & I tried to freehand it - Oh, never again! Band-aids are the perfect stencil for creating the idolized tip! Depending on which hand is your dominant, the other is usually a mess right? - C'est la vie!  Now you can laugh in the face of your once awfully painted left hand - Ha! With a little practice, patience & band-aids, you can enjoy a fancy french any time you want for only the cost of your polish! This is how I get a shoe saving amazing french in the comforts of home!

Curly Hair 101

Now that summer is approaching I hope most of you are embracing your natural textures! Put. Down. The. Flat. Iron! Wash & Go's, and Air drying should be your new hair care regimen during the summer! I can't stress enough how important it is to give your hair a break from manipulation and chemicals if you're trying to grow it longer - and this so happens to be the perfect time of the year to take that much needed hiatus!

I know, I know, but blonde ombre highlights and wavy 2inch barrel beach waves sound so gorg! Yes, it does - I get tempted on a daily basis to go crazy on my mane but I remember how much work and sacrifice it took for my hair to love me again! If you do rock your naturally curly, kinky, wavy (and everything in between) texture you know that once you sweat or the heat hits it, your style is long gone - so why bother? Why go through the painfull hour and a half and a numb arm to sweat it out later? The heat styling won't be worth it when you have to cut off 5 inches of damage! (Trust me, I went through watching my hair fall to the grown in slow motion at a salon while the little intern sweeps up your ends like they meant nothing - I cried to the dramatic Titanic music in my head!)

These are the tried and true, best of the best shampoo, conditioners and stylers than I've ever used! (They may not all be 'natural and organic' but I've never had a problem with them! They are all very moisturizing and are perfect if you do want to implement a wash and go routine into your hair care lifestyle change! They definitely helped (and are still helping) me as I continue on my journey!  Read More to find out the rest of my scalps secret weapons!

Influenster SWEETHEART Vox Box 2013

Influ-what? No, not influenza (like I've called it 35 times while filming the review! - Did I say filming?) I won't bore you with my detailed rambling, but if you do want to know what the fabulousness of influenster is all about, you can find out all the secrets <HERE>
This vox box is my first (hopefully not the last!) You couldn't handle the decimal level of my scream once I opened this box! Two weeks ago I was thinking how badly I want to try 3 of these products & viola, just like that Springtime Santa delivered! (No one knows what products are in the box until the little mail elf delivers it. My box coincidentally had gifts inside that I wanted to try!) I received these 48 hours ago & haven't used each very long (I've tried them all), but I ate one of them in one big bite & I couldn't be more satisfied! Continue reading for the sweetheart box tour!

Spring Romance

Spring is all about 'The Flirting"!

Tis the season where just about any color combination you can obsess over goes! What I love about spring is that it's followed by summer & everything you wore in the spring can be intermixed almost seamlessly if you wore your thinking hat/fedora while shopping this year! Don't pass up on Pastels (That should be a rule somewhere!) Pastel shades & colors can quirk up your clothing personality from the fall, and I haven't seen a pastel outfit gone wrong... yet!

So what do you do when the pale colors seem playful, and you're going for a sexy spring evening out? Mix them with prints & neutrals! I love pale pink & navy for spring - Navy may see dull, but it's more of a 'spring neutral' than to  tame down your colors with black. (Even though I wear black year round!) I'm loving Pale Pink & Navy at the moment & I've found it to be the most romantic combination for early in the year!
This outfit is chock full of designer wear and totals a 'what the..." $5,739.00 [USD] price tag! I guess you may have to walk to work and be fine with no groceries for 2 years.

Not to fear, I wouldn't leave you all without an alternative that will allow you to drive to work, and not starve to death. To check out the affordable version to this outfit and the prices for both, continue reading!
